Uncomfortable for the Spirit...

Growing hurts, that's why their called growing pains! :() Growing dosen't stop when we become adults, in fact, it accelerates and the direction of that growth depends on our choices and our knowledge. There are many people who have 'grown' in their youth greater distances than their elders and then there are some people who seemingly seldom appear to grow. So how does all of this growing take place?

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

~Jeremiah 17:9

[ In God's capable hands, we flourish! ]

Like a plant can't flourish without sunlight and water, we too can't flourish without our fertile 'soil' our LORD God! Yes it's possible to exempt him from our lives, but then we suffer the consequences wether we recognize it or not. God is our food, our lifeline for our existence here on earth and our key to salvation!

[ People even friends and family cannot fill in for only what our Lord can do. ]

God feeds us through our storms and the good times, though it's common for us to 'forget' his role in the comfortable, in those times where there's less struggle, in the fun times. It's within our deepest struggles that we come to the Lord, and those times are that way by design. God knows his children! LOL!! Within our difficult spaces, those areas where it becomes Uncomfortable for the Spirit we learn humility, we learn to lean on the Lord, we recognize that he's in FULL control and not ourselves. We are taught to Trust, to live in full Faith, and to connect with Him so that we can listen and follow...

O my God, incline thine ear, and hear, open thine eyes, and behold our desolations,

~Daniel 9:18

I know that when I'm feeling uncomfortable in my spirit about something that it's time to understand that I don't understand; that I must let go in order to grab on. Often I have to fall and those spiritual scabs will heal, but how well they heal depends on my relationship with God. I still have spiritual wounds that haven't healed because I just haven't let go enough for God to bring me to where he desires me to be. It's my responsibility and because of my inability to deal with certain wounds; they haven't healed properly. But God knows this, and he knows the outcome for me!

Uncomfortable in the spirit is the poke we need, [ though it's up to us as to wether or not to respond ]. We are creatures of comfort. If an article of clothing is uncomfortable we change into something that fits better or if possible 'cozy' clothes! When we're in physical pain, we have medicine (or whatever healing modality you prefer) to soothe or remove it. But spiritual discomfort is deeper and not so easy to remove... That's the way it's designed to be.

So when you're in that feeling of discomfort, that space where no external interference can suffice, God's knocking at your door, getting your attention!! It's up to us to answer!

Why are thou cast down O' my Soul? and why are thou disquieted in me? Hope thou i God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

~Psalms 42
